Joyous day comemorating thy delivery. Or Happy Birthday!

So, today is Becca's Birthday. She seems to be pretty upset about the fact that she's 25. I don't really get that. It's not that old. She claims that for a woman it's all downhill from 25,whereas men just become silver foxes like Anderson Cooper or George Clooney.

Unfortunately for Becca, I don't think she has come to grips with the fact that my future probably looks something a bit more like this:

That's my goal anyways.

I thought maybe I would list some things about Becca that make her worth the trouble... err... I mean that make me love her!

~Bec's a great Mom! Seriously, she puts you other mothers to shame. You guys should all feel slightly to majorly jealous of her mothering skills. Ok, don't feel bad, really. I'm sure you're all wonderful mothers, but I'm just trying to make a point. Bec's a really good Mom. She thinks she constantly being compared to my Mother, but that's just not the case. (I made the mistake of commenting how much I liked my Mom's sugar cookies once... right after Bec had made me sugar cookies... I'll never live it down. And she's never made me sugar cookies since then...) So while I think my Mom's awesome, I also envy Bubba and think he's pretty much the luckiest little boy in the world. Though I also think it would suck to have a hot mom, so I don't envy him in that respect. (But Mom, I still think you're adorable...just not like that...)

~Which brings me to reason #2... She's Bangin' Hot! ...The total package... Now I realize that our readers are 99.99999% women, so just ignore me for a minute. You know how they say that pictures are worth a thousand words? Sometimes that's just a flat out lie.  Because you know how when a guy sees a hot girl he goes stupid and has no words? That's what these pictures do for me... there are no words. *Drool*
~Bec's a hard worker. When something is important to her (school, a clean house, mothering, special events, convinving me to do what she wants, etc.) she pours her whole heart into it. Seriously, to the point of obsession. On second thought, maybe I should put this in my next list of her faults?? Ha...jk. Honestly, I respect the way she's able to really dedicate all her thoughts and engery into whatever it is that she's working on. I on the other hand, need breaks every ten minutes and eventually just call it quits when I'm tired of working on whatever it is I should be doing. Which explains why she got good grades and I...

~Lately Becca's been all domesticated and stuff. She's housebroken. I think I did it to her somehow. Seriously, when I met this girl, she was all "girl power" and "Ms. You'll-never-domesticate-me". I don't know what or how I did it, but she cooks me dinner...regularly...and it's good. I love it.

~Becca's a good person.  For some reason she seems to worry about this quite a bit.  I think that alone is evidence enough that she's good.  Bad people don't care that they're bad.  So let the record show that Becca is a wonderful person.

~T&A

~She helped me clean my car the other day after a long day. That was pretty great too. Made me love her.

~She's a twin. This is more creepy than anything though. Just messing, Nat. We love you. And Happy Birthday to you as well!

~She's feisty.  It's a blessing and a curse.

~Bec's totally a girly-girl. While I don't appreciate the impact this occasionally has on our bank account, there's just something I like about a girl who takes the time, if you know what I mean. At the same time, she's a natural beauty. Good luck convincing her of it though. Perhaps it's better that way. But, she's as irresistible in the morning as she is after hours (yes, hours) of primping.

So Beccers, have a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We love you lots and feel lucky to have you in our lives!

Love,

Travis and Bubba

Bryant Bryant Bryant....

First of all I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who commented on my last 2 blog posts. I have seriously read all of the comments like 20 times and it has been a serious self-esteem booster. I think everyone should do it on their own blogs. You are all AWESOME.

Ok so another Bryant post as promised :)

Cute boy in the tub

Oh hey Bryant

I think Bryant may be a dancer. Look at that position. ha.

Pic of Travis just because he's a sexy boy

Bry hanging out in his basket with his books. His new favorite spot. Kind of weird.

This video is really similar to the last one, just longer :)
Please ignore my no makeup ugly face. GOO.
Oh and I think I say "good job" like a million times. I was bugging myself when I watched this again. I had no idea I say that so much. Sorry. haha

The End.

and then this happened...

After my "honesty" post, my little boy decided he wanted to be adorable. I feel better now. ha.

This is what makes it all worth it:

It's been a long day.....

 Random pic. :)

Hi blog friends.  So lately I've been feeling a little bit down on myself.  Want to know why? Because I have been comparing myself to other bloggers and the seemingly perfect life they have. Do you ever feel like other people are smarter, more beautiful, more creative, better writers, world travelers, completely happy with marriage all the time, happy with having 5 kids and no career?  I know I do.

So honesty time now.

I'm constantly in awe of people who have money & design skills to redecorate their house all the time, even if it is done "thrifty".  I can't afford to buy thrift store furniture and redo it most of the time.  It makes me wonder if I should be working? But the thought of putting Bry in day care makes me feel guilty and working as a nurse sounds absolutely miserable.

Sometimes I miss being single.  Not because I don't love Travis or want to be married.  I just miss getting dressed up and going to parties and meeting new people.  I miss being validated that I'm one sexy biotch.  Sound really superficial? absolutely.  Marriage is hard.  It takes a lot of work.  After almost 3 yrs of being married it takes a conscious effort to keep the "crazy in love" feeling there.

I love my son so much, but the reality is I'm sitting here with yogurt  & peanut butter smeared across the front of my shirt.  Bry has been crazy all day, so I  passed him off to Travis while I went to my bedroom to hide out.  I now have headphones on blaring "glee" music so I don't have to hear Bryant whining from the other room. I wonder sometimes why people want more children after living though one and KNOWING what they are getting themselves into.  I seriously don't know if I can do it all again.

I suck at making friends.  I get lonely, but yet I don't want to make the effort to get to know people.  I'm also very choosy about who I'm willing to hang out with.  I often wonder if it's bad to be choosy? Probably.  I miss my old singles ward sometimes, because it seemed so easy to relate to other girls when we were all single and going through the same "dating" drama. Hopefully my new ward has a lot of girls my age who love clothes, design, photography, reading teen fiction (ha), chick flicks, taking girl trips, & of course the gospel.  I think it might fill an empty spot in my life to have girlfriends who I can relate to.

I wish I had more courage to do what I loved.  If I could redo BYU all over again I would go into interior design I think.  It sucks that you are supposed to figure out life at 18 yrs old.  I wonder what I will do with myself when Bry gets older and I have more time on my hands.  I want to be able to say that I pursued my dreams and tell Bryant that he can do the same.

I don't know how people run marathons, run a successful business with children, & have perfect fashion sense.  Please enlighten me.  How do you do it?  I feel like it's a successful day when I can get Bryant and I ready for the day by 11 and have dinner on the table by 5:30.  Does this make me lazy? I wonder about this a lot.

Anyway, if you are still reading this you're a champ. Thanks everyone out there for your blogs and lovely thoughts.  It makes my day to read about your lives.

Love,

Becca

Fabric Headboards....

Hi there.

Want to know what's been going on?

We are building a house. (what?! yes).  Crazy.  After looking for a house to buy for about 2 months and making multiple offers which didn't work out, we decided to build a house in Lehi.  This is such a scary thing for me, but I felt right about our decision so hopefully it all works out as planned.  I am so thrilled to finally be leaving our little apartment. It's been a happy 3 yrs, but it feels like it's time to move on.  I'm hoping that I can make a lot of friends and get a life soon :)  ha.  More to come later.

I've been taking care of the Bry Guy all day long :)  In case you didn't know Bryant is the cutest little boy ever.  He has lots of funny quirks such as calling a ball a "gall", putting a blanket on his head while running full out around the house, and saying HI (loudly) to everyone who passes by at Target.  haha.  It makes me laugh just thinking about it.  Ps. for my mom: He can point out every ball, toothbrush, dog, moon, sun, and of course "elmo" in his ELMO book.  Oh and next time you see him ask him what a monkey says and you will not be disappointed. ha

I'm thinking about making a fabric headboard.  I need a creative outlet, and I've been obsessed with cool headboards lately.  Such as this:

I LOVE the headboard, the "mirror side tables", the lamps, and the cool wallpaper. Oh and I love how everything is neutral with a pop of blue.  I'm hoping to try and recreate it cheaply someday.  Too bad this bed is about $4,000.

Go here to check out this awesome but ridiculously expensive website :)

Anyway, a picture post of all Bryant is coming soon for Grandma Barnes. Party.
