Advice...

So I need advice on how to pick out a carseat/travel system. I walk around babies r us, target, walmart and have no idea how to pick something. Everything seems ridiculously expensive but then I feel like I'm going to be a horrible unsafe mother if I don't spend $300 on a car seat. Crazy I know. Please awesome moms out there tell me how it is done.

Ps. Sorry to those who tire of my pregnancy/baby rants. :)

Oops...

I had a horrifying moment today. I went to go get comfortable after church and just threw on some scrub bottoms and a t-shirt. I then realized 5 minutes later that the shirt I had just put on was not my black kaiizen shirt but Travis's (we have the same shirt but in different sizes OBVIOUSLY HA). My belly is so big now that his stuff even feels tight. Weird and SUCKY.

Ps. Thanks for coming to p-town last night Nat. Lame chick flicks (yes I was turning the music down on the bollywood movie because I was slightly ashamed that the neighbors would hear ha), a pound of candy, hot chocolate, and a late night dicussion on life always makes me feel better.

Nerd Alert...

So, this being my first and only attempt at marriage, I'm not exactly sure what the status quo for nightly bedtime rituals is, or should be; but what I am sure of is that silently playing Tetris together on your respective cell phones while lying next to eachother in bed is not normal. I am certain that we have the most nerdy and boring bedtime ritual of any married couple who might be reading this. Try and beat that commenters...

boys boys boys.....

I'm glad Travis was the one to post the baby boy news first because I almost wet myself from laughing so hard. ;) I thought I would relate my experience with the ultrasound....

Ok so having been a nursing student and seeing about a 100 ultrasounds throughout school I thought I was ready to lay on a really uncomfortable table and have gross jelly squirted on my belly, but I have to say it was a strange experience. Throughout the whole thing I was really nervous that something was going to be wrong and it didn't help that the tech didn't say a word until I would ask her a question or scream out body parts and she would patiently say "yes, good job." haha. It was a shock when I found out we were having a boy. Anyone who has been around me the past few months knows that I have been obsessed with girl stuff (girl names, dresses, bows, the color pink....) but I am totally excited that I am having a boy first. Although baby boy clothes leave something to be desired. I have been to like 4 stores already and the boy clothes all have lame giant animals on them. Aren't there stores out there that make "miniature man clothes?" For the love!! However, the lack of boy "stuff" hasn't stopped me from ordering a pimp crib and picking out the crib set I want. Oh yeah. Anyway I'm rambling.

Oh one more thing. I am so thankful for nordstrom this year. They have cute soft stretchy dresses that are pretty dang affordable in fun colors. Hallelujah!

Here are some ultrasound pics........

Anyone have any cool names for a boy???
We like:
Bryant
Brooks
Bentley ( Kelly your last name inspired this :)
Parker
Henderson
Bennett
Brody
Yeah we like "B" Names. Alliteration is cool ;)
I can't think of the rest (I know there was more), but I have no idea what I like the best. Tell me what you think.

Life.....

So after much debate, crying, and a little emotional craziness I quit my nursing job at the hospital a little while ago. Working night shifts and being pregnant (and sicky) just wasn't working out with my sanity, but now I am unemployed and wondering who in the world is going to hire a pregnant girl who is 5 months along (I look like a ticking time bomb to employers I think haha). Anyway, I was thinking today how grateful I am for my supportive family and husband. Travis has been nothing but sweet and wonderful about my decision and I absolutely love him for it. I don't know how in the world I convinced him to marry me but I feel so blessed to have his example and loving presence in my life. Love you Travis :)

Ps. There is some good news out of this! After studying long hours and STRESSING like crazy I passed my nursing boards. So now I am officially a nurse! haha. Hopefully some of the applications I turned in this week will work out so I can get another job QUICKLY. Good times.

Oh and sorry about the lack of pictures. I promise to take more in the future :) Maybe even show my "pouch" in a few.

Don't take me too seriously on this...

I'm bitter. I'm noticing that Becca's posts generally seem to attract way more comments than mine. This is a load of crap. I mean, not to take anything away from my wife, she's hilarious, but seriously...

I'm going to boycott my wife's blog if I don't get some attention here. So dudes, if you're reading this, just make a comment. Checking blogs isn't nearly as bad as writing on one, right?

Football......

This is what Travis wishes he could look like every time a Tennessee game comes on :)

This picture is so inappropriate. hahaha. Parents teaching their kids young.

So instead of becoming bitter every "football saturday" and wishing Travis wasn't a freaky football fan, I decided it would be better to learn the rules and watch some of the games to see if I could get into them. Travis promised that he wouldn't get bugged with me during the games if I asked him a million questions about what was going on, and I have to say the more you know about the game the more enjoyable it is to watch. CRAZY. :) This past weekend Travis and I were up at my family's cabin watching the BYU football game and for once I was the one yelling in outrage at the TV and getting anxious about how the game would end. My dad was shocked to see his girly daughter watching football AND getting into it. GOOD times. Anyway I don't know if I will watch a lot of football this year, but I've decided it's fun to watch games where I know the team AND spend more time with Travis on Saturdays :)

PS. Our big ultrasound is on Tuesday!!!!!! I can't wait to find out if it is a boy or girl or twins??? yikes :)

Oh and do other pregnant girls pray that their child won't genetically inherit bad traits? I pray that my kid will be anxiety/depression free and have good skin. haha. Is that weird? My mom told me that she prayed I wouldn't end up with her feet (she HATES her feet for some reason) haha I ended up with my dad's feet. Maybe my prayers will pull through too :) I really will be perfectly happy if my "it' is healthy. Just want to make sure that "it" doesn't go through the same crappy trials. Maybe just have new ones. Mix it up a little.

Wow...

Well, I didn't realize how much I had gone off there until that posted and was eternally long. I'm not a big fan of long blog posts, so sorry. You don't need to feel the need to read it, but let me say that I feel better now...

Utah? More like Pooh-tah!

Ok, so generally speaking I really enjoy living in Utah. Provo may not be my ideal city to raise a family in, but for the time being, it'll do. But, every year around August, Utah becomes one of my least favorite places on the planet to live.

Why, you may ask? Well, August is the month in which the registration on my Jeep expires. Those of you who have lived in Utah your whole life may not know that there are only 19 states in the US of A which require a safety test periodically. Some are every two years, others every year. I come from a state in which you never have to get your car tested. As far as I know, anyone in Tennessee who can't stop because his brakes aren't working, or see in the rain due to shredded wiper blades, is all to eager to get that fixed for their own safety. Utah, on the other hand, thinks that we all desire to drive around in cars that are basically ticking time bombs of disaster, and the only way to ensure public safety is to charge us all $47 dollars a year to have someone else tell us our car is either safe or unsafe.

Now, every other year, I simply suck it up and deal with it. They tell me I need new brakes, fine, I 'll change them myself. I need new rotor disks, fine, not a problem. E-brake needs to be tightened, okey-dokey. New tires, done and done. But, this year (mind you that I've had my car for more than one year now), I go in and they tell me that my window tint is too dark by 3%!! Seriously! So, I go off a little bit... I've passed every other year! 3%! And what gets me the worst, this is Utah!...People are allowed to drive dirt bikes on the road here! You don't even have to wear a helmet! It's totally legal and fine to ride with 39 Mexicans in the back of your pickup truck, but my window tint, which you can clearly see through in the middle of the night, from the outside of the car in a dark alley on a moonless, starless, pouring rain in the middle of nowhere night, is deemed too dangerous to have on our public roads. Give me a freaking break.

I mean, if my tint were noticeably dark or reflective or something it wouldn't be a big deal. But seriously, I've seen reading glasses with darker tint than my Jeep. So, it comes down to this... either one of you can help me out by passing along the name and number of a shop which you think might pass me, or I'll be stripping and retinting my windows this week. Maybe I'll just find a truck with only 38 passengers in the back and start carpooling?

90210 bliss...

So last night when Travis was making me chocolate chip cookies (I begged him and may have even bargained sexual favors to get him to make them for me. Sorry mom if your reading this haha) Anyway last night the "new" 90210 show came on. At first I was making sarcastic comments about how predictable the story line was, how unnaturally beautiful the supposed "16 year olds" were, and how there was no possible way that a male high school teacher could be that hot when out of nowhere I was sucked into the chemistry of the two main characters "annie" and "ethan." Now I will in no doubt be adding this show to my list of lame but addicting shows that I look forward to watching every week just to see if these two characters finally hook up. The End.

Ps. I am officially FAT. So if you see me waddling down the street don't think that I have let myself go. I just have a baby pop belly. I miss my sexy flat stomach. sigh. I have begun to feel anger and resentment towards skinny girls. You know who you are and I hate you. haha.

Oh and great news!!! We get to go to my family's cabin this weekend. I'm excited to get out of provo for at least a few days!!!!
